Informations sur le gène

human ... MCRS1(10445)

Description générale

Microspherule protein 1 (UniProt: Q96EZ8; also known as 58 kDa microspherule protein, Cell cycle-regulated factor p78, INO80 complex subunit J, MCRS1) is encoded by the MCRS1 (also known as INO80Q, MSP58) gene (Gene ID: 10445) in human. MCRS1 is a nucleolar protein that is detected in testis, and at lower levels in spleen, thymus, prostate, uterus, small intestine, colon and leukocytes. Its highest levels are reported in the early S phase and it becomes undetectable in the G2 phase. Four isoforms of MCRS1 have been reported that are produced by alternative splicing. MCRS1 contains a nucleolar localization motif (aa 113-123), a coiled-coil domain (aa 301-335), and a forkhead associated (FHA) domain (aa 363-419). MCRS1 exhibits transforming activity, which is suppressed by phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN). It can modulate the transcription repressor activity of DAXX by recruiting it to the nucleolus. MCRS1 forms a complex with Mi-2 beta, and RET finger protein (RFP) and co-localize in the Nucleolus. This complex activates rRNA promoter activity. (Ref.: Shimono, K., et al. (2005). J. Biol. Chem. 280(47); 39436-39447).
