Coltart Group – Professor Product Portal
Professor Don Coltart
Synthetic organic chemistry is the unifying feature of all research in the Coltart Group. We have a particular interest in the development of new synthetic methods and the use of those methods to enable the total synthesis of structurally complex, biologically active natural products. Our methodology research focuses mainly on asymmetric carbon–carbon bond formation – with an emphasis on the
α-alkylation of carbonyl compounds – as well as the synthesis of saturated and partially saturated heterocyclic compounds.
