Gene Information

human ... ANGPTL3(27329)

General description

Angiopoietin-related protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is a member of the ANGPTL family and is expressed in the liver. The ANGPTL3 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 1p31.3. Mutations in the ANGPTL3 gene lead to familial combined hypolipidemia, a Mendelian condition that is indicated by lower levels of triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. The ANGPTL3 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit provides for the quantitative measurement of angiopoietin-related protein 3 in cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum.

Angiopoietin-like proteins (ANGPTLs) play major roles in the trafficking and metabolism of lipids. Inactivation of ANGPTL3, a gene located in an intron of DOCK7, results in very low levels of LDL-cholesterol (C), HDL-C and triglyceride (TAG). We identified another ANGPTL

This study aimed to determine ANGPTL3 serum levels in healthy young lean and obese non-diabetic men during an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and correlate them with anthropometric, biochemical and hormonal parameters. A case-control study was carried out and 30

Meningiomas, as the most common primary tumor of the central nervous system, are known to harbor genomic aberrations that associate with clinical phenotypes. Here we performed genome-wide genotyping for cranial meningiomas in 383 Chinese patients and identified 9,821 copy-number variations

Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) inhibits lipid clearance and is a promising target for managing cardiovascular disease. Here we investigated the effects of a high-sugar (high-fructose) diet on circulating ANGPTL3 concentrations in rhesus macaques. Plasma ANGPTL3 concentrations increased ∼30% to 40%

Familial combined hypolipidemia, a Mendelian condition characterized by substantial reductions in all 3 major lipid fractions, is caused by mutations that inactivate the gene angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3). Whether ANGPTL3 deficiency reduces risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) is unknown. The study
