Application

Hydrogen peroxide 30% can be used as an oxidizing agent:
  • To synthesize 5-bromo-2-nitropyridine from 5-bromo-2-aminopyridine in the presence of H2SO4.
  • For the oxidation of aromatic and aliphatic sulfides to sulfoxides or sulfones.
  • For the epoxidation of terminal olefins using a mixture of Na2WO4 dihydrate, (aminomethyl)phosphonic acid, and methyltrin-octylammonium hydrogensulfate.
  • To prepare adipic acid via oxidation of cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol in the presence of H2WO4 as a catalyst.
  • To convert cyclopentanone to δ-valerolactone via Baeyer−Villiger-oxidation in the presence of a solid acid catalyst.
