General description

Dual Confirmation of E. coli ID Membranes are substrate-carrying membranes used for rapid identification and differentiation of E. coli through characteristic color reactions while placed on the agar surface post-incubation. The membranes contain chromogenic substrates X-Gal, which serve as the basis for differentiation by color. E. coli cleaves X-Gal giving a blue coloration to the colony and MUG, which results in fluorescence under UV light, making it a dual detection method. The color can be visually detected on the membrane.

Application

Dual Confirmation of E. coli ID Membrane is used for rapid detection & confirmation of Escherichia coli in water and food samples, based on a chromogenic and fluorogenic method. They find their application in various sectors such as the food and dairy industry, water industry, pharmaceutical laboratory testing, cosmetic industry, environmental and sanitary testing, clinical diagnostic, etc.
