Gene Information

General description

Members of the protein kinase C family fall into three categories: conventional (PKC alpha, beta I, beta II, gamma), novel (delta, epsilon, eta, mu, theta), and atypical (lambda, zeta). Conventional PKC isoforms are dependent on calcium and diacylglycerol (DAG) for their activity, whereas novel PKC isoforms are calcium dependent, and atypical PKC isoforms are calcium and DAG independent.

Specificity

Predicted to cross-react with rabbit.
Recognizes PKCε, Mr 95 kDa.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated, synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal variable (V5) region, amino acids 726-737 (KGFSYFGEDLMP), of mouse Protein Kinase C Epsilon (PKCε). The immunizing sequence is identical in human, mouse, rat and rabbit.

Application

Detect PKCε using this Anti-PKCε Antibody validated for use in IH, IP & WB.
Immunoprecipitation:
An independent lab has reported this antibody immunoprecipitates PKCε.

Immunohistochemistry:
An independent lab has reported this antibody detects PKCε.

Quality

Routinely evaluated by Western Blot on Jurkat cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis:
0.5-2 μg/mL of this lot detected PKCε in Jurkat cell lysate. 0.5-2 μg/mL of a previous lot detected PKCε in a RIPA lysate from Jurkat cells, mouse brain extract and rat brain extract.

Target description

Approx. 95

Physical form

Format: Purified
Protein A purified
Purified rabbit IgG in buffer containing 0.014 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.6, 0.175 M NaCl, 0.07% sodium azide, and 30% glycerol.
Store at -20°C.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt, and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance. Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

Analysis Note

Control
Positive Antigen Control: Catalog #12-303, Jurkat cell lysate.

Other Notes

Concentration: Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the lot-specific concentration.
