HandyStep^® Troubleshooting: Error 003

The page describes how to clear errors from HandyStep^® electronic Repeating Pipette. Any time an error is shown on the screen, push the ENTER key and the screen will assist in clearing the error. An error 003 can arises in many cases, such as twisting a tip while installing in HandyStep^® electronic or trying to forcibly remove the tip from the piston while it is not in the slower most position. To clear this error, push the ENTER key and the screen will show letters rEF, indicating a reference run needs to be made. Push the STEP key to perform the rEF run, and the piston will move to the lowest possible position, ejecting all residual liquid and then making a reference movement to identify the tip size.
