The GenElute Viral RNA Miniprep Kit is designed for isolation of viral RNA in a column-based format. A single protocol is provided for isolation of viral RNA from saline, viral transport medium, saliva, cell suspension, and tissue culture medium. This kit does not separate viral from cellular RNA and will co-purify host cellular RNA if it is present. Efficient purification of low concentrations of viral RNA is enhanced by the inclusion of poly(A) carrier RNA. Downstream compatible applications for purified RNA include RT-qPCR and Next Generation Sequencing.
