McCoy′s 5A Medium is recommended to produce viruses in primary cell cultures.

Anwendung

McCoy′s 5A Medium has been used for culturing:
  • human colon carcinoma cell lines (HCT116, RKO, FET, CBS, HCT116b, and TENN) to study the function of leucine-rich repeat-containing G-protein-coupled receptor (LGR5) in colon cancer metastasis
  • human colorectal HCT116 cells to study miR-224 over-expression in cancer
  • osteoblasts to study ion reactivity of calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite in standard cell culture media

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

McCoy′s 5A-Medium wurde ursprünglich zur Unterstützung von Lebertumorzellen durch die Modifikation der in BME vorkommenden Aminosäuren entwickelt. Diese Formulierung wird auch zur Unterstützung des Wachstums in Primärkulturen von Knochenmark, Haut, Gingiva, Niere, Omentum, Nebenniere, Lunge, Milz, Rattenembryos und anderen Zelltypen verwendet.
