Beschreibung

General description

Ein zellpermeables Steroidlacton, das antitumorale, entzündungshemmende, radiosensibilisierende und immunsuppressive Eigenschaften aufweist. Es hemmt wirksam die Angiogenese sowohl in vitro (IC₅₀ = 12 nM gegen die Proliferation von HUVEC) als auch in vivo (80%ige Hemmung bei 7 µg/kg/Tag in C57BL/6J-Mäusen, s. c.) sowie die NF-κB-Aktivierung (IC₅₀ = 500 nM in TNF-α-induzierten Endothelzellen), indem es auf den ubiquitin-vermittelten Proteasom-Signalweg abzielt. In höheren Konzentrationen (~5 µM) wirkt es sich auch auf die AP-1-Transkription aus und induziert den Zelltod.
