General description

Cobalt(II) sulfate heptahydrate is a hydrated cobalt salt. Its bioavailability has been assessed in human tissue fluids and human serum.

Application

Cobalt(II) sulfate heptahydrate may be used in the following processes:
  • Preparation of FeCo alloy magnetic nanofluids.
  • As a source of cobalt ion (Co2+) for the oxidation of aqueous phenol solution via electro-Fenton process.
  • Preparation of palladium-activated titanium dioxide-supported cobalt-nickel-phosphorus ternary alloy catalyst (Co-Ni-P/Pd-TiO2).
  • Preparation of {[Co(phen)2]2(μ-P2O7)}·6MeOH (P2O7 = pyrophosphate; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), a pyrophosphatobridged cobalt(II) coordination complex.
