Infection-associated inflammation can alter the expression levels and functions of cytochrome P450s (CYPs). Cyp gene expression is regulated by the activation of several nuclear receptors, including pregnane X receptor (PXR), constitutive androstane receptor (CAR), and aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR). Questions

  1. What delivery solvent is recommended for IP injection of 5-Pregnen-3β-ol-20-one-16α-carbonitrile into mice?

    1 answer
    1. The lab has not validated the product for use in animal studies. For the injection of 5-Pregnen-3β-ol-20-one-16α-carbonitrile using a vehicle solution, a publication suggests that 5% dimethyl sulfoxide in safflower oil may be effective. This finding was published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, July 2020 issue, Volume 61, Issue 7, on pages 1050-1057. The publication, titled "Imaging P-Glycoprotein Induction at the Blood-Brain Barrier of a β-Amyloidosis Mouse Model with 11C-Metoclopramide PET," is indexed with PMID: 31806767.
