Biochem/physiol Actions

I-309, a chemoattractant for monocytes but not neutrophils, is an approximately 8.5 kDa polypeptide of 73 amino acids. Human I-309 is thought to be a homolog of the mouse TCA3, and shows 42% amino acid homology to mouse TCA3.
I-309, a glycoprotein, is a chemoattractant for monocytes.[1] It is secreted by monocytes, activated macrophages and T lymphocytes.[2] Presence of I-309 in lymph node lymphatic sinuses controls metastases into the lymph nodes.[3] It suppresses CCR8 (C-C motif chemokine receptor 8)-induced HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection and also participates in angiogenesis.[2] I-309 is also referred to as CCL1 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 1).

I-152 combines two pro-glutathione (GSH) molecules, namely N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) and cysteamine (MEA), to improve their potency. The co-drug efficiently increases/replenishes GSH levels in vitro and in vivo; little is known about its mechanism of action. Here we demonstrate that I-152

We have identified two cDNA clones, I-309 and G-26, which define genes expressed abundantly in activated human PBMC, but at low or undetectable levels in resting PBMC. Based upon nucleotide sequence analysis, both clones are predicted to encode small, structurally

The human cytokine I-309 is a small glycoprotein secreted by activated T lymphocytes and structurally related to a number of inflammatory cytokines. To investigate the biological activities of I-309 protein, we produced a stable Chinese hamster ovary cell transfectant, CDI.10

Carboxypeptidase M (CPM) targets the basic amino acids arginine and lysine present at the C-terminus of peptides or proteins. CPM is thought to be involved in inflammatory processes. This is corroborated by CPM-mediated trimming and modulation of inflammatory factors, and
