General description
By ELISA, the antibody shows approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant human ephrin-A5 and no cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse ephrin-A1, mouse ephrin-A2, human ephrin-A3, mouse ephrin-B1, mouse ephrin-B2, and mouse ephrin B3.
Immunogen
recombinant human ephrin-A4, extracellular domain, expressed in NSO cells.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Ephrin A4 binds to EPH receptor A4, a protein-tyrosine kinase family that belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily. The ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands and regulate developmental events, particularly those of the nervous system. EphrinA4 regulates the axonal growth, astrocyte reactivity and neuroinflammation in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. High expression of EphA4 receptor correlates with tumor progression, invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer and is a suitable prognostic marker.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.

Expert opinion on therapeutic targets, 15(1), 31-51 (2010-12-15)
High mortality rates with cancers warrant further development of earlier diagnostics and better treatment strategies. Membrane-bound erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular receptor tyrosine kinase class A2 (EphA2) is overexpressed in breast, prostate, urinary bladder, skin, lung, ovary and brain cancers. EphA2 overexpression in

The EphA4 receptor tyrosine kinase is a major regulator of axonal growth and astrocyte reactivity and is a possible inflammatory mediator. Given that multiple sclerosis (MS) is primarily an inflammatory demyelinating disease and in mouse models of MS, such as
BMC clinical pathology, 13(1), 19-19 (2013-06-07)
Erythropoietin-producing hepatocellular (Eph) receptor, consisting of a family of receptor tyrosine kinases, plays critical roles in tumour development and is considered an attractive target for cancer therapy. Tumour samples were obtained from 222 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma who underwent gastrectomy.
