General description

N-Ethyl-p-toluenesulfonamide is an herbicide. It is an organic contaminant present in the river Rhine. N-Ethyl-p-toluenesulfonamide/ N-bromo succinimmide (NBS) along with N-methyl-p-toluenesulfonamide/NBS serves as nitrogen/halogen resources during the synthesis of vicinal haloamino ketone derivatives. Reaction of epichlorohydrin with bisphenol is useful for the industrial preparation of epoxide resins.
