General description

Phosphoric acid is a compound of phosphorus and oxygen. It is a colorless crystalline solid.[1]

Application

Qualified for use as a titration acid in insect cell culture applications.
Phosphoric acid has been used:

• as a component of preservative in yeast-sucrose food for maintaining Drosophila melanogaster[2]
• in the preparation of triethylamine phosphate stock solution[3]
• as a component in the preparation of protein reagent[4]
• to adjust pH during the preparation of phosphate buffer solution[5]

Phosphoric acid is commonly used in fertilizer industry. It is also used in the manufacture of insecticide and pesticide.[1]
