Glutathionesulfonic acid (GSO3), a metabolite of glutathione, is used to increase the tissue-to-plasma concentration ratio of thiopental sodium. Glutathione sulfonate is also used as a modulator of dopamine release and to study glutathione binding sites on proteins such as glutathione transferase.
