General description

Carbonyl iron is a metallic iron which possess metallic magnetic properties.[1]

Application

Carbonyl iron has been used:
  • in the manufacture of bioactive membranes[2]
  • in the manufacture of active magnetic fabrics (AMF)[3]
  • for the fabrication of magnetodielectric tissues (MT)[3]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Carbonyl iron has a role as an absorber of microwave radiation.[4] Carbonyl iron also exhibits shielding properties because of the low density and the connectivity among the fillers it provide.[1] It is used in industries and in the synthesis of nitro-group-containing pharmaceutical ingredients.[4]

Questions

  1. Sarebbe possibile avere maggiori informazioni relativamente alle dimensioni delle particelle?

    1 answer
    1. Historically, the particle size is typically less that 10 um. However this material is not tested for nor is it assigned a specification for particle size.
