General description

Aluminum was shown to increase the activity of multiple inositol polyphosphate phosphatathase(MIPP) in hepatic mammalian cells. This cased a decrease in the MIPP substrate, Ins(1,2,3,5,6)P5.

Biochem/physiol Actions

The metabolite inositol is a precursor of inositides, which have an important impact on diverse areas of cellular regulation.

Packaging

Bottomless glass bottle. Contents are inside inserted fused cone.

There is speculation that some of the toxic effects of Al3+ may originate from it perturbing inositol phosphate/Ca2+ signalling. For example, in permeabilized L1210 mouse lymphoma cells, 10-50 microM Al3+ activated Ins(1,3,4,5)P4-dependent Ca2+ mobilization and Ins(1,3,4,5)P4 3-phosphatase activity [Loomis-Husselbee, Cullen

Inositides have an important impact on diverse areas of cellular regulation. However, since this area has grown exponentially from the mid 1980s onwards, many workers find themselves relatively new to the field. In this chapter, we establish a broad foundation

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
