General description

Closed coolant system eliminates wastewater and accidental laboratory flooding. Typical operations include reflux and distillation. Efficient aluminum heat sink disperses heat. Remove plastic cap on heat sink to fill with distilled water. Water passes through to glass condenser. Complete apparatus includes Airflux aluminum heat sink, and removable glass condenser. Flask sold separately.
  • Ideal for solvents boiling between 60 and 150 °C
  • Use with flasks up to 250 mL size and heating mantles with 60 W max. output
  • Condensers can be mounted in tandem for flasks sizes up to 1 L and 300 W heating mantles with a controller for steady reflux rate
  • Mounts to 1/2 in. lattice rods or support stands via built-in clamp on heat sink

Note: Do not use tandem mounted water-cooled Airflux units to condense solvents boiling over 100 °C. The lower unit works at a temperature close to the boiling point of the solvent at high reflux rates. Alternative coolants such as ethylene glycol may be suitable. Tests should be carried out to determine satisfactory performance.
