General description

Pyridinium based ionic liquid

Application

4MBPBF4 has been used in the preparation of the SWNT-polymer composite films to improve the dispersion of SWNTs and conductivity of the composites (SWNT= singlewalled carbon nanotubes).[1] The use of 4MBPBF4 as a reaction media during derivatization of dimethyl sulfate with dibenzazepine, accelerates the rate of the reaction.[2] It can also be used to modify carbon paste electrode, which leads to high sensitivity, selectivity and low detection limit for both potassium ferricyanide and dopamine by cyclic voltammetric technique.[3]

Other Notes

Lipase catalyzed kinetic resolution in ionic liquids with improved enantioselectivity[4]
