General description

LUDOX® HS-40 colloidal silica is the dispersion of monodispersed colloidal silica particles having the size smaller than 100 nm.[1] It contains sodium stabilizing counterion.

Application

LUDOX® HS-40 colloidal silica can be used:
  • For the synthesis of polymer–inorganic nanocomposites by directional freezing.[2]
  • To synthesize colloidal suspensions of zeolite Y[3] and zeolite A nanocrystals by hydrothermal method.[4]
  • As a model for colloidal silica foulants to study the membrane fouling.[5]
