General description

(1R,2S)-(+)-2-(Dibutylamino)-1-phenyl-1-propanol, a norephedrine derivative, is a chiral auxiliary for asymmetric synthesis.

Application

(+)-DBNE reacts with nickel bromide (NiBr2) to form a chiral catalyst, which can catalyze the enantioselective conjugate addition of dialkylzincs to α,β-unsaturated ketones leading to the formation of optically active β-substituted ketones.
