Application

  • Allene is extensively used in a variety of photochemical,[1][2] thermal,[1][3][4] and transition metal-mediated cycloadditions.[1]
  • It can be lithiated to obtain allenyllithium which reacts with alkyl halides to afford terminal allenes.[5]
  • Additional application includes the preparation of reagents such as isopropenylsilanes and isopropenylstannanes by reacting with stannyl and silyl cuprates respectively.[1][6]

Packaging

Supplied in a carbon steel lecture bottle with a CGA180M/CGA110F needle valve installed.

Compatible with the following:
  • Aldrich® lecture-bottle station systems
  • Aldrich® lecture-bottle gas regulators

It has been generally accepted that biosynthesis of protoheme (heme) uses a common set of core metabolic intermediates that includes protoporphyrin. Herein, we show that the Actinobacteria and Firmicutes (high-GC and low-GC Gram-positive bacteria) are unable to synthesize protoporphyrin. Instead
