General description

N,N-Dichlorourethane undergoes addition reaction with unsaturated compounds to yield β-chlorocarbamates[1]. It is a pseudohalogen and is an attractive halogenoid reagent[1]. It reacts with indole and indole-2- or 3-carboxylic acid to yield 3,3,5-trichlorooxindole[2].
